An Engagement Shoot, also known as a pre-wedding shoot or simply as an E-shoot, is basically a photo-shoot of you and your husband-or-wife-to-be which takes place before the wedding.
They’re a relatively new concept in wedding photography circles but have taken off on a massive scale – there’s not a wedding photographer I know who doesn’t do Engagement Shoots.
Usually, I do an Engagement Shoot about 4-6 weeks before your big-day, but sometimes they’ve taken place a year before your wedding day.
They’re an excellent idea for a few reasons:
- They allow you to have some cracking photos taken in a relaxed and natural setting.
- They let you see the way I work, how I pose you, my approach to photography, how well we will get on and how much fun it can be having your picture taken!
- It will allow me to see how you behave in front of the camera – are you a natural poser or not!
- As the Engagement shoot takes place before the wedding, the photos can be used for thank-you cards, a mini-album, a guest-book, gifts and much, much more.
As an example of the sort of photos you will take from your Engagement shoot, have a look here.
