A great local band, Ruberlaris, were on last night at The Highfield. Usually these guys play at larger venues and lend themselves to being able to whip the crowd up and get them moshing and jumping around like loonies. Doesn’t work quite as well in a small pub without damaging something, someone or both – as demonstrated admirably last night.
I tried to brave the pit and get some better photos but I just didn’t want to risk losing my camera or being stamped on!
Anyway, they were supported by another great local band, The Shirks – with their Arctic Monkeys/Libertines inspired sound (a complete guess – but not far from the truth, I imagine) You can have a listen to them by clicking here.
Ruberlaris have their EP coming out next month and it’s going to be worth getting as a bit of memorabilia as they’re going to be a very big band in a couple of years, I guarantee it.
I’m honoured to be doing a photo-shoot with Ruberlaris and The Shirks next weekend. Ruberlaris want some artwork for their EP and The Shirks want some promotional photos. Can’t wait! I’ll try and post some sneak peeks on here if I’m allowed to do so before the release of the EP.
In the meantime, here’s a couple from last night and also from the other week when Ruberlaris played The Harley in Sheffield.
