Google Wave!

EDIT: Wow!  I really didn’t expect there to be as much of a response!  Thanks to everyone who left a comment.  I’ve chosen the three winners and will be blogging about it later today…  Check back then!  :)

I’m a bit excited about Google Wave – seeing as I’m already a fan of Facebook and Twitter – and have just landed myself an account!

As you may know, these accounts are a bit exclusive at the moment and Google kindly give you a few invitations to hand out to friends who may be interested in joining too.  So, for a bit of fun… I’m going to give three of them away!  These invites are currently selling for up to £90 on eBay!

All you have to do is leave a comment on this post and, in a single sentence, tell me why you deserve a Google Wave invite?

I’ll choose the 3 funniest and send an invite!  Simples!

phenix26 - glad you got your wave invite and you are paying it forward by giving some away.

i would like a wave invite because i like to keep up with technology. anything that’s new i love to try. i had google voice when it was grand central and gmail when you really had to invite folks to try it. as soon as i heard about wave i signed up and even wrote them a poem (guess they didn’t appreciate it). i love interacting with new technology and this is a perfect opportunity.i don’t have any big plans for using my invite to do something extra special like develop anything but only to REALLY use it and that’s what i promise i will do. i won’t let it sit there and go to waste.

robert - I would have bought one from ebay, but I am a student and I can’t really afford to pay 90 Pound. See I can’t really afford the Pound-Letter on my keyboard and have to work on my German-style laptop keyboard – which kind of makes sense since I am German. So I am hoping that you might chose me.
Plus I couldn’t go see the ocean this year and enjoy the waves and beach since I am writing on my final paper for uni, so I hope I get to see some virtual waves. No beach is ok, but no waves… unbearable.

Dave Holden - It’s tricky trying to be funny on demand… I usually do my impression of John Wayne at the first thanksgiving, “I’m John Wayne at the first thanksgiving, PILGRAMS! happy thanksgiving, PILGRAMS!”

Craig - A Google Wave account will enhance my life in infinite ways, namely:

1) It will make me more attractive to the opposite sex, and possibly the same sex
2) National Geographic will (by an as yet undetermined process involving wavelets and blips) come across my Flickr photostream, and fall over themselves to give me a full time staff photographer position
3) Time magazine, late on the scene, will swoop in and offer me MORE THAN $30 to use one of my shots on the cover
4) Barack Obama, desperate to have a Google Wave invite, will friend me on Facebook to try to wheedle one off me
5) I could have a bloody good go at swapping my Google Wave account for a Canon 5D Mkii
6) Or maybe even a 7D
7) Probably not a 1D Mkiii though.
8) If I was feeling generous, I could give Annie Leibovitz an invite, and she could flog it on ebay to help pay her debt off.
9) Maybe I could do what that guy did with the red paperclip and use Google Wave to swap a Gorillapod for a load of different stuff until I got an SB900 or something! How awesome would that be!!
